A lively and brand consistent platform to host the McCain sponsored Screenplay competition and the associated animations.

We worked with Channel 4 to build a microsite to host the McCain sponsored Screenplay competition within the Film4 website. McCain are a major worldwide brand and wanted to increase sales of a new product – McCain Wedges.  The competition was designed to incorporate the McCain brand and drive users to a coupon page where they could claim a voucher, which was redeemable against specific McCain products.

The competition was based on a series of short video animations which featured a selection of well-known Film4 films.  Each week users were asked to identify the 10 films shown in the animation from a predefined list of 20 possible choices. Users were required to answer five or more answers correctly to be able to progress to the entry form.

McCain was extremely pleased with the outcome of the competition. The Screenplay microsite received over 68,000 page views from 21,000 unique visitors, who played the game over 25,000 times and generated over 11,000 entries.
